Pirate King sails

This is what I’m doing today. Taking this:

down the hill and into town and putting it into a box, where some nice person will pull it out later today and other nice people will stow it in various trucks and a plane, and some time tomorrow my editor in New York will hold it in her hands. Magic!
This will probably be the last manuscript I’ll send this way—the last two have gone electronically, which isn’t as dramatic but is more efficient and of course cheaper. But this one has a few formatting issues that I know from experience are going to give their computers conniption fits, like these pages:

so I thought it would be easier to just print it and FedEx it away.
(And a copy of “The Green Man” to the first person to identify the natty gent in the photograph.)
The rest of the day I’m going to the Apple store to see if they can tell me why the Mac Air that I wrote this thing on has such a very touchy relationship with Microsoft Word.
Thanks for your patience while I was working on this, I hope to creep back into the blogging world now.
