Laurie’s Lammie

Laurie wins a Lambda! The 2007 Best Lesbian Mystery from the Lambda Literary Foundation, for The Art of Detection.

  1. Yay! Congratualations Laurie! I can’t think of anyone more deserving!

  2. Carlina says:

    Huzzah! *throws confetti*
Much deserved congrats on your Lamda award!! Well deserved indeed!

  3. Yippeeeeeee!!!! That’s utterly awesome, and no-one deserves it more.

(Running off to check the rest of this year’s awards, since it’s evidently a good batch)

  4. Roxanne says:

  5. Marcia Diane says:

oh whew, navigating these new sites is taxing, whine, whine, whine.

So Laurie, I think that puts paid to the argument about your qualifications to write a Lesbian protagonist, uhmmmmmmmmm? but we did have fun discussing it.

    my best,

    M. Diane

  6. Many congratulations on a well-deserved award. Nice to see some good things happening. I’ve also just spotted some news on Amazon re Touchstone, but don’t want to spoil it for anyone else…!

  7. Another M.R. says:

Hi, and congratters on your Lammy! I came close awhile back, and was one of the finalists in 2000 (Spirituality category, for Gifted by Otherness: Gay and Lesbian Christians in the Church, which Morehouse published and I co-authored with CDSP’s Bill Countryman.) Yes, I am also a CDSP/GTU alumna, and had the pleasure of being there when you got your D.H.L. And just to add to the fun, I am also an M.R. (honest, it’s what everyone has been calling me for decades, though it’s technically M.M.R., which stands for a great deal that I would just as soon forget).

I do thank you for some wonderfully witty, literate and theologically zesty prose. The last is so rare! I know my own efforts don’t come remotely close to Mary Russell’s Oxonian standards (I only managed 5 years of the GTU’s doctoral program myself before I mired fast), but I do think she would enjoy my latest effort, God of Our Mothers: Face to Face with Powerful Women of the Old Testament (Morehouse gave this one a truly sexy cover, which gratifies me no end). She might deplore my paucity of footnotes, but I could almost guarantee her a good snort at one of my more snortworthy statements.

Anyway, enough about me, congratulations to you, and many more awards to come!
