Hey Listen

I may be knee-deep in life\’e2\’80\’99s little lessons at the moment, but I did take an hour off to talk to the ever-witty and well-read Michael Artsis, whose interview on Hey Listen radio can be found at Heylisten.com.

  1. My daughter always says our lives are so vanilla…meaning “no drama!” I keep telling her that all those dramas that may be interesting and make great stories later are generally hell to live through. But perspective is everything and she’s just 16; for her, the world an adventure that\’e2\’80\’99s just waiting to happen and while for me, it reaffirms how much I really like vanilla 🙂

When you hit the Italy part of your old world adventure I’d love to hear any thoughts on places to go/things to do as a trip to Italy may be a distinct possiblity some time next year.

  2. Whatever the lessons, I wish you the best as you work through them.

If and when you get around to posting about your travel adventures, I’d love suggestions for places to visit in Sussex and Wales that are accessible by train and other public transportation (no driving in Britain for me!).

Maybe a new web feature? After your lessons are done, of course!

  3. Ooooo! I got to hear you talk!! You made my day. I’ll stop gushing and embarrassing myself to write that what you said about why mysteries and how you got from religion to mysteries is very much why I enjoy reading them so much and yours in particular.

Those who long for drama in their lives, as does 2maple’s daughter, forget that “may you live in interesting times” is a curse. Hope all works out well for you and yours.
